Cancer Prevention - How to Reduce Your Risk of Cancer

Cancer Prevention - How to Reduce Your Risk of Cancer

by Ronald Godlewski

Traditional medical treatments for cancer may include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and hormone therapy. Many doctors use a combination of methods in an effort to increase the effectiveness and speed at which they attack the cancer. The treatment or combination of treatments is often dependent on the type, location, and severity of the cancer. While all of these therapies have been used with varying degrees of success - NONE OF THEM address the main problem with cancer - TOO MANY PEOPLE GET CANCER!
What is the ultimate solution to cancer? What should YOU be focused on?
How about not getting sick in the first place!
If given a choice, would you rather take a few simple steps to avoid cancer or do you want to take your chances and fight it once your doctor tells you you've got it? Would you rather spend your retirement money on the latest creative treatments and expensive high-tech equipment or spend time with the ones you love doing the things you love the most?
Just how much does our cancer crisis cost you? Consider that every man, woman and child in the U.S. contributes nearly $720 each year - that's almost $3,000 for a family of four! That number was calculated by taking the total health care cost of cancer and dividing it by the total U.S. population. No tricks. No funny money games. What could your family do with that $3,000 today?
Why spend hard earned money on treatments that often impact our quality of life? Many of the therapies for cancer are so physically debilitating that patients are often not able to return to work or do daily tasks around the house. People with cancer often require family members to help with the basic necessities of life, including getting dressed, taking a bath, and going to the bathroom.
Just as with heart disease, there are VERY SIMPLE lifestyle changes that you can start doing today that can decrease you risk of developing cancer. These same simple changes can also improve your overall quality of life. Ready? Here's the list:
1. Don't use any tobacco products. Don't smoke. Don't chew. Don't puff. Smoking is responsible for 90% of all cases of lung cancer. Want to drop your chances of contracting lung cancer to 10%? It's simple....don't smoke, chew or puff.
2. Protect yourself from the sun. Skin cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer yet it is the MOST PREVENTABLE. Avoiding peak sunlight (between 10am and 4pm), wearing sunscreen, and avoiding tanning beds and sunlamps can virtually eliminate the risk of skin cancer.
3. Maintain a healthy weight. There is a direct relationship between excess body weight and those that die of cancer. The American Cancer Society found that the more overweight you are, the greater your risk of dying from cancer.
4. Keep your immune system working properly. Cancer cells appear in our body every day, but our immune system knows how to recognize an unhealthy cell and eliminate it. Our central nervous system plays a major role in the function of our immune system so anything we can do to strengthen our central nervous system will reduce our risk of cancer. Two key ways to keep our central nervous system operating at peak performance is spinal alignment (yep, go see the chiropractor) and eating nutrient dense foods. Studies have found that this one-two punch increases the amount of antibodies within your system within minutes after a spinal adjustment or consuming a nutrient dense supplement.
5. Exercise on a regular basis. Physical activity is one of the primary methods of maintaining your ideal weight and in keeping your body's organs, tissue, muscle, ligaments, and bones strong and healthy.
6. Eat nutritionally dense meals and supplement. Eat lighter and leaner by choosing to eat fewer high-fat foods. High fat diets may increase your risk of prostate, colon, rectum and uterus cancer. Supplement with nutrient dense supplements that are made from nutrient dense plants such as aloe vera and sea vegetables.
7. Think healthy. Studies have shown over and over again that reducing stress will reduce the risk of cancer AND heart disease. Take time out of your day, better yet, plan each day to remove stress. Stress weakens cells, weak cells makes the body more susceptible to developing cancer.
That's it. Seven of the easiest steps you can do today to reduce your risk of cancer. To make them really work for you, learn a bit more about each. There is plenty of information about exercise, nutritional supplements, reducing stress, losing weight, etc. Learn more, do more, and choose to NOT be one of the million plus people diagnosed with cancer each year.

Androgen Deprivation Therapy For Prostate Cancer Treatment

Androgen Deprivation Therapy For Prostate Cancer Treatment
by Bobbie McKee

During the old days, practice of Androgen Deprivation Therapy for Prostate Cancer Treatment is what scares many men. Losing a part of your genitalia, for a man to lose ones faculty for sex is too much for a cure that's percentage driven.
The former practice, this Androgen Deprivation Therapy for Prostate Cancer Treatment is Orchiectomy or the surgical castration -a term that hardly requires definition. The science for this is that testosterone stimulates prostate cancer growth. Testosterone is the male androgen hormone essential for a boy's development to manhood. It is responsible for many things characteristically man: baritone voice, deepening of chests, bulging of muscles, and growth of body hair among several things. And an enzyme that is secreted in the prostate gland converts this testosterone into a metabolite Dihydrotestosterone (abbreviated as DHT) which is a cancer stimulating cell.
And because the testicles produce the majority of the testosterone, the Androgen Deprivation Therapy for Prostate Cancer Treatment includes Orchiectomy or this surgical castration where the prostate cancer cells are deprived of testosterone thus, starving it to death. Of course, as I've mentioned it is percentage driven. Testosterone in majority is produces in the testicles, but other gonads do build testosterone, and one of them is the prostate itself.
Another method in castration is the Chemical Castration. It is done by making the pituitary gland over-stimulate the Leydig Cells, thus making the requirement for stimulation too high that it will have a reduced stimulated ability and wearing the cells out. Leydig Cells is primarily responsible for testosterone secretion. The effects of chemical castration include sexual dysfunction, among other things.
Today's practice for Androgen Deprivation Therapy for Prostate Cancer Treatment is decidedly different, thank God. That means we men can keep what makes us men in the first place. The practice of today is blocking the switching of testosterone into DHT. By using enzymes like 5-AR inhibitor Finasteride or the more potent Dutasteride (Proscar and Avodart, respectively), the testosterone is prevented from turning into DHT. This is a more laudable solution to battling prostate cancer by Androgen Deprivation Therapy than chopping some part of your genitalia off.
Every physician differs in medical practice but that doesn't mean you'd have to be the next castrated prostate cancer survivor. Try asking your doctor on the benefits of using anti androgen drugs or androgen receptor blockers for your Androgen Deprivation Therapy for prostate treatment. Believe me; you'd not want to have hot flushes and enlarging breast as a side effect to prostate cancer treatment.

Lung Cancer Alternative Treatment : cancer Health insurance review

Lung Cancer Alternative Treatment
by Bobbie McKee

Well, all I can say is I hope you're not a smoker. This is one seriously nasty habit. Oh, you don't think so? Hey, it's time to have a reality check. The truth is that no one likes your smoking habit unless they too are a smoker. That's the rule of thumb and it's very reliable. What I don't understand is why folks still smoke even though they must understand how deadly it is. This makes no sense. People all over the world die from lung cancer every day. There's no two ways about it. The only question is; are you going to quit or simply deal with a cancer treatment down the road. Hey, I hear there is an alternative lung cancer treatment available these days. If you keep puffing on that cigarette, you just may need it.
Have you ever heard of an alternative lung cancer treatment? These new-age alternatives are becoming quite popular these days. I think this is due to the fact that many individuals are losing their faith in the almighty doctor. You can't help but wonder sometimes if they're actually right or simply full of it. My teenage daughter, who has a heart murmur, has always seen a physician each year regarding this minor condition. About five years back, we saw one doctor who told my wife and me that the heart murmur would affect her future. He basically said that she would die in her 50s. We thought this was bizarre to say the least. Recently we saw a different physician, and he informed us that the heart murmur was practically gone and it should pose no problem to her whatsoever. Now that is a completely different opinion. So can you actually believe what many doctors tell you? I seriously doubt it. This is probably why some individuals who are afflicted with lung cancer, search for an alternative lung cancer treatment. Who knows what the hospitals are doing now days!
If you have a personal computer and access to the World-Wide-Web, you can easily research any alternative lung cancer treatment. This is a wise decision even if you're not afflicted with cancer. It's always beneficial to know and understand what is currently going on in the world. Get the scoop on alternative lung cancer treatment options today.

Raw Food Expert And Cancer Survivor Shares Information On Why People Get Sick And How To Heal

Raw Food Expert And Cancer Survivor Shares Information On Why People Get Sick And How To Heal
by Kevin Gianni

This interview is an excerpt from Kevin Gianni's Raw Food Summit which can be found at http:// rawsummitarchives.com. In this excerpt, Brenda Cobb shares on living foods, the reasons people get sick and how they can heal.
Raw Food Summit Excerpt with Brenda Cobb, the founder of The Living Foods Institute.
Kevin: Sure. When you talk about illness and you talk about people who have disease and who can heal themselves, it's more than just food...
Brenda:: It really is. I believe that it's much more than the food. I think that's one of the reasons that the program that I used now have developed over the nine years of have been doing this. It is become so effective to the healthy people because we look beyond the food. Now, we certainly do use a 100% organic, the raw food and the living food.
The way we describe raw food and living food is raw food we believe fruits, vegetables and not seeds that have not been cooked. We believe a living food is a sprouted food, something that's growing when you eat it. Among bean and lentil sprout and sun flower, and buckwheat sprout. And so, that certainly is a part of the program. But we believe there has really four main reasons that people get sick. The number one reason we believed is because of how people think and emotional stuff sometimes that has got been buried so deep. And then another part of that number reason is stress because the world we are living is stressful. So that's the first area we help people with.
The number two area, we help people with is toxicity because there's toxins that have build up over years of breathing the air, drinking water that is not pure, of eating processed foods with additive colors, chemicals, dyes, over the counter medications, drinking alcohols, smoking cigarettes whatever it might be. So, we believe you have to get all the toxins that are already in there out so the body can do what it was created to do in that field itself.
The third reason we think people are getting sick is because of their decisions and we are believing that deficiency is the vitamins, the minerals, and the enzymes. Now, we are doing our best to get these through the good nutrition, but also realize that the soil today is not what it was in great, great grand daddy's day. So, there are some super foods and allergies and some products that we used that helped to boost that along with the good nutrition. But we do believe that you cannot take a product in place of good nutrition. You got to have good nutrition as your foundation and then supplement only with food sources, you know a raw food powder or an allergy and we also use herb and essential oils to help the body to cleanse and detox and nourish. We found that to be very effective.
And then the fourth thing that we found make people sick is the dirty toxic impacted colon. So, our program also focuses on cleansing the colon, getting out the impacted waste, mucoid plaque, worm, parasites. You know from years of eating, maybe foods made was flower and water that makes a glue or a paste and people get that gunk [ph] in that sticky stuff inside of their colon and it sticks in there and sometimes it can become really hard and there's a barrier than between the good nutrition even if you're eating good food. You've changed your ways and now you're eating raw in living food. If you got a lot of plaque built up in the colon, you can't really assimilate the nutrients as well. So, we like to simultaneously be putting in the good food while we also getting out the bad stuff and then when we do all of it together, we really feel that, that supporting the body, the mind, the spirit, the mental, the emotional, the physical, the spiritual, and that the body can bounce back from most anything.
Kevin: Let's talk about number one. How are some of the ways that someone can deal with the way that they're thinking or not even deal but free themselves of some of the stress and some of the emotional issues that they have?
Brenda:: Well, first thing is a lot of times we are thinking thoughts that we don't really even realize are negative. Many people, if you talk to them about negative thinking or negative speaking and you ask them, "Do you speak or think in a negative way? Most people will say, "No, I don't." But then when you really kind of get down to how they are talking to themselves, you will see that the way that they're talking is not really positive, that they are meaning to say something positive but they're saying it in a negative way.
So that's the first thing, it's really just kind of teaching people to unprogram themselves. One way we do it is to teaching people some very simple affirmations and even though they may sound very simple, almost too simple and people will say, "Gosh, it seems so easy, how can it work if it's so simple?" Well, you know anytime you say the words, "I am" and then you feel that blanking with another word, you're saying the most possible...a positive or a powerful three words that you can say. So, if you say "I am healed" then you're going to create the energy of healing. But if you say "I am sick" you're going to continue to create the energy around sickness. So, that's one thing, really being careful when you say "I am", you know let's say you work really hard all day and you're tired so you're saying "I am so tired". Well, the more you say it, the tired that you get, you know instead if you go out and take a little walk around the block and say "I am energize, I am enthusiastic, I am excited to be alive." You begin talking to yourself in that way, breathing the fresh air, getting the body moving a little bit, you'll see that at the end of that 20 or 30 minute, well you are actually feeling better. So, that's one thing.
Now, as far as emotional stuff, really we like to help people to understand what are the emotional components that are related to the disease or symptom that they'd manifested. I used a couple of books that I really like for that. I used a book call Feeling Buried Alive Never Die by Karol Truman and I used a book that a lot of people have heard of call You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay and then I used a book call Radical Forgiveness by Colin Tipping and we really study those levels of, okay first let's get real about what is that emotional component and does it bring through with you and sometimes people will say, "Wow, I cannot believe how much that is like me, what you're telling me, this emotional thing."
All the times people will even be in denial more and they'll say, "Well no, I don't think that's it, I don't see how that could be causing my problem." So we just gently and lovingly work with people to get them more aware. We have specific exercises that we do in our emotional healing classes to help people to be able to see within themselves and, you know we get them to face some of the things, you know asking them questions like what is it about yourself that you would like to see change and, you know how do you think that the way you've thought in the past has impacted you and do you think that you are fulfilling your mission in life and just get people dialoguing and thinking, you know when you start talking among yourselves, you can even create a wonderful mastermind group and all of the sudden just from hearing what other people are saying, many times we get our own answers. We're not looking to somebody else to figure it out for us, you know we can figure it out our self but it helps to be able to discuss it with others.
And so that is also a part of the way that we help people through emotional healing. Now, with stress, we are doing breathing exercises, relaxation exercises, stretching, yoga, you know helping people to learn how to relieve stress that gets impacted in their self and in their organs, in their glands. Most people don't breathe to their full capacity, that shallow breathing and they find that when they really use more of their lungs and breathe in deeply, that itself can relax.
That really was my great transformation - was healing those emotional things as well as changing what I was eating. I think when I was eating meat, animals, and when I was eating sugar and dairy, I was getting antibiotics, and hormones, and toxins, and uric acid getting off in my body. Honestly, I think it was making me angry. I think that a lot of times the foods we eat can make us more loving and gentle, or can make us more stressed out, on edge, and angry. When I cleared those things out, the illnesses went away and I became a better person - a gentler, a kinder, a sweeter, a more loving and more forgiving, I live and let live rather than...
I stopped criticizing other people or judging them. I realized, "You know what, I got my hands full trying to make my own decisions and go through life." I need to focus on making me better and not trying to fix somebody else's problems.
Kevin: Yes. A lot of people who are listening may have family members who are sick. Not even necessarily a debilitating disease or but they are sick. They are tired, lazy, and achy. How do you bring this information to someone like that? How do you get them to start thinking differently about the way they feel? I mean, would you suggest talking about how you're feeling?
Brenda:: Well, you can tell people you feel great. But you know what, there's nothing like looking good.
Kevin: (LAUGH)
Brenda:: You know, people can just look at your skin and they go, "Your skin is looking great!" "Your eyes seem really sparkly and clear." You know your energy, look at how much energy. People say that all the time to me. "Where do you get all your energy?" And I'll laugh. I'll say, "Well, where do you think?" "I get it from eating raw and living food." And they seem surprised. "Oh, is that really true?" I said, "Yes, it really works." "It's really true." And then of course to share your testimony and tell people; you know how good you feel. A lot of times people, when I start talking about eating raw and living food, some people are so out of touch with what that means, that they say, "Is that ...you eat your meat raw?"
Kevin: Yes. (LAUGH)
Brenda:: Well no, I don't eat meat. And I don't eat that raw. I'm talking about fruits and vegetables. They're like, "Oh, oh yeah, fruits and vegetables. Yeah." Forgot you could eat those raw, you know? And is not a difficult lifestyle; it's very simple. It's so easy just to eat an apple, or a stalk of celery, or a cucumber. You know, you don't have to make it complicated at all.

Founder Of Living Foods Institute Shares Her Healing From Cancer
by Kevin Gianni
This interview is an excerpt from Kevin Gianni's Raw Food Summit which can be found at http://rawsummitarchives.com. In this excerpt, Brenda Cobb shares on her amazing healing from breast and cervical cancer.
Raw Food Summit Excerpt with Brenda Cobb, the founder of The Living Foods Institute.
Kevin: Today I have an incredible guest on the line. She is an author and founder of the Living Foods Institute. She also has had an incredible healing journey from breast and cervical cancer, which we're going to talk about today. So, Brenda Cobb, I want to welcome you to the Raw Summit.
Brenda:: Thank you so much, Kevin, I'm real excited to be here.
Kevin: Brenda, you have an incredible story, and I want to get into it, and I want to kind of give a landscape of where you were before you were diagnosed, and then move into what you did.
Brenda:: Well, where I was, was in a very high stress job, I owned my own business, I was in film in television, I had a recording studio, and a production company. And, I was very busy in helping people in promoting their careers, and in producing shows for big events, and that was very stressful.
During that time, yeah, I didn't really eat well, and I ate all kinds of various types of foods that weren't really great for me. And, if I had a headache, I took a Tylenol. And, if my stomach was upset, I took some kind of another type of a pill. And, then in 1999, I was diagnosed with both cervical and breast cancer. And so, that woke me up big time. The doctor told me that I needed to have surgery, chemo, and radiation.
I knew that I did not want to. I really felt that I needed to look for a natural way to heal myself. And so, I got on the Organic Raw and Living Foods Lifestyle, and it changed my life. I've started using wheat grass juice, and energy soup, and other really healing foods, and the cancer went away, but other problems I had had, arthritis, acid reflux, indigestion, heartburn.
I had taken Pepcid AC, Tums, Rolaids, all of those types of products to try to help myself, and that didn't really work, it just made me worse, not really better.
But, you know what? When I got on this program to heal cancer, all those other symptoms went away. So, I never had any more migraine headaches. Arthritis went away, I lost weight, my energy increased, my skin improved, I felt better, I wasn't as depressed, I felt happier, and everything really changed dramatically. That's when I realized that my mission in life was going to be to help other people, and teach it, and tell other people about it because I felt like if it helped me, it could help other people.
And, it's still thrilling. I mean today to just watch how much health can be improved on this program. And, I don't care how sick people are Kevin. I have gotten people in my center that everyone else has given up on completely, and they've told them that they have a terminal, hopeless situation, and yet when these people are willing to change what they're doing and their mental thinking, and some of their lifestyle habits, we see that the body is miraculous, and it can bounce back from most anything.
Kevin: How did you get turned on after you got out of the doctor's office, how did you get turned onto the natural way of helping yourself?
Brenda:: Well, I went to the health food store as soon as I left the doctor and I asked them if they knew of any books I could read, or anyone who had ever healed in a natural way. And, they pointed me to a little book that a woman had written that said How I Conquered Cancer Naturally, and her name was Eydie Mae. And I bought the only copy of that book that they had on the shelf. And, it was all about how she had used Dr. Ann Wigmore's method for raw and living foods with wheat grass, and energy soup, and Rejuvelac, and veggie crowding, and colon cleansing. And, how she had a very serious challenge with cancer and that, she didn't think that there was any other place for her to turn. It kept getting worse and worse, and coming back after treatment. And, when she heard about this program and got on it - it healed her.
When I read that book I had cold chills all over my body. I thought you know something, if it can work for her, it can work for me. Why not? What do I have to lose? At least I need to try this. So, I really had faith and belief in it. You know how it is sometimes that you read something or you hear something and immediately it resonates with you. It's like you already know this at some level. It's in there and it was just kind of waiting to be remembered and that's how I felt about it. I started reading enough, Wow,this just makes sense if I clean my body out, if I start giving it optimum nutrition, if I don't cook my food, because of course I never knew that when you cook you killed it. I learned that by cooking it I was killing the enzymes and compromising the vitamins and the minerals. And, that if I would start putting in really good organic nutrition that my body would do what it was created to do. It would heal itself.
So, I use Eydie Mae's example, and then I started reading other books that Ann Wigmore had written. And, I started reading testimonies from people who had done her program before and everybody seems so positive. And, there were so many stories that really seem miraculous. I mean of people recovering from all kinds of diseases that I became more and more encouraged. And then the more I did it, the more I was able to see for myself that it really did work.
Kevin: And so you believe after you read that book. You believed right away?
Brenda:: I did. I've really had total faith and belief. In fact, it was a good thing because well- meaning friends and family who loved me a lot really thought I was crazy, and they felt that I should what the doctor said. And that I should do the surgery and the chemo, and the radiation. Of course, I asked some of those well-meaning people, "Well, why would I?" Because, it didn't work for, one of my aunts or maybe one of your sisters. You know, because of my aunts would be talking to me about it or other loved ones. I say, "You know it didn't work for them. I don't see why it should work for me. I'm going to try something different." Now, those same people who then thought I was crazy, they think I'm a genius now. I did it, you know when they thought I'd lost my mind but now they have seen that it really does work.
And, I'm glad I had that total faith and belief because it's tough when a lot of people around you are thinking you're ought to do one thing and you're knowing that you should be doing something else. You have to a hell lot of courage, you know to do that. And, I just kept saying, "You know I know God is leading me in this way and I'm going to do what I know I need do and I'm not going to worry about what other people think because it's my life and I'm going to be responsible, and be self sufficient." And, you know what if it doesn't work I take full responsibility but what is it does? And, I believe it will, and I believed to this day that mental attitude and, faith and belief in a program - what ever that program maybe. I think that's 99% of it.
Kevin: Um hum.
Brenda:: If you do something and you don't believe it's going to work - if already you're sabotaging yourself I'm saying, "I don't why I'm doing this. I'm sure it's not going to help me." Then the truth is it's not going to help you. I believe that you do get what you expect, and what you really visualize, and feel and think it's going to happen for you. I think that you get more of those positive results and thinking that way.
Kevin: When did you know that this was working?
Brenda:: Immediately really although my first my first few days on it, I tell you I was really detoxing pretty strong.
Kevin: Sure.
Brenda:: And, because I have been a coffee drinker. So, I had a lot of caffeine and that started coming out and I had a headache that I thought every time my heart beat, I thought my head was going to burst wide open.
And, that lasted for about a 24 hours but it gradually begin to get better, and after a couple of days I would just have a little intermediate headache here and there. And, by about the third or fourth day I never had a headache again, and then I was nauseated because again toxins were coming out, and I thought that probably was the worst and maybe the first and the second day. And by the third day I began to feel like I was coming a little bit back to life. By about the fifth or the sixth day, I was really beginning to get encouraged because I was feeling better. Weight was beginning to melt tough because I weighed almost 200 pounds when I was diagnosed.
Kevin: Wow.
Brenda:: And so the weight was melting away and then I began having more clarity. I was having a lot of heavy bleeding from the cervical tumors and that began to subside and actually in 30 days of being on the program that completely stopped.
Kevin: Wow.
Brenda:: So that was an immediate, I'm like "Wow!" something is working.
Kevin: 30 Days?
Brenda:: Yes, in 30 days. Now in my... as far as my breast tumor I could feel it going down and decreasing. After my first 30 days it felt like to me just from touching that it was about half the size. And of course I continue to decrease until it got to the point within about the third or fourth month I was not able to detect it there at all. You know, it was in about seven or eight days I never had acid reflux or heart burn or indigestion again.
And now that actually was more empowering to me than in anything else because I had it so bad that I could not lie down flat to sleep. I had to prop up with pillows and that was miserable. I mean, I never slept well at night because I had that burning sensation.
When that went away I felt like, "Wow!" this health program was worth it If nothing else got better because that one thing gave me better quality of life. The more that I ate this good nutritious food and the less junk I ate, you know I stopped eating meat and dairy and sugar and all that stuff. That impacted my sleep and just my well being so I felt better and had more energy and when you have more energy everything is better.

Choosing Your Life Insurance Quote : Health insurance review 2008

Choosing Your Life Insurance Quote
by Mike Armstrong

Life insurance companies have been on an increase recently. This demonstrates the willingness for people to buy life insurance policies. This can also mean that getting a life insurance quote may not be as tricky as before. With lots of insurance companies on the market, obtaining a cheap life insurance quote may no longer be hard. With the advent of the Internet, many businesses have set themselves online. So, with good research, you can come across a life insurance quote which will suit you best.
Furthermore, the web can help you make precise decisions about the type of life insurance that you need. Hence, it can provide you with the most appropriate life insurance quote. Using the Internet to search for a life insurance quote can help you in a number of ways. Firstly, you can compare a life insurance quote from a company with that of another one at a glance. Secondly, you can even buy your life insurance policy online if you wish. However, it could be better to meet with an advisor to discuss about the life insurance quote and the overall policy. The life insurance advisor can outline the policy you have chosen by explaining you how it will operate.
Besides, do not be always hasty in making a decision when you come across a cheap life insurance quote. You should know that these days you may not get something of quality for a low price. So, be realistic when you see a low price tagged life insurance quote. Instead, you can search about all the reputed insurance companies and request a life insurance quote from them. After comparison, you will most certainly be aware about the range of prices that are prevailing on the market. With this done, you can restrict yourself from getting fooled by a life insurance quote that you have found while searching the Internet.
Moreover, after consulting your life insurance quote and making a decision about the company you would choose, it is vital to look at your policy documents. The policy documents would reveal facts that cannot be found on your life insurance quote. For example, the premium payment for a policy of 20 years can be lower than one with a 10 years term. Having a cheap life insurance quote can as well depend on your sex, age and health status. If you smoke you would be classified as a high risk and your premiums would increase. So, if you really want an affordable life insurance quote, you have to avoid smoking.
Many insurance companies in the UK and around the world are willing to provide you with a free life insurance quote. As said, you only need to find the right insurance firm to obtain the right life insurance quote. But you cannot complain about high premiums if you are a risk taker. For instance, if your hobby is skydiving, your premiums may normally be high and your life insurance quote will also let you read the same.

Individual Health Insurance: What's Right For You?

Shopping for individual health insurance is a tedious and tiresome task. Health insurance is especially troublesome to compare and shop. There are thousands of companies that want you to buy medical insurance from them. What adds to the complexity is the sheer number of different plan details, such as deductibles and coverage options. If you are feeling lost in the health insurance maze, these points may help you find your way out.
Check the Monthly Premiums
Medical insurance brings with it some major costs. This cost is the monthly payment, also referred to as a premium. Even if you do not use your insurance in a particular month, you still pay the premium. Your health insurance quote should clearly show the premium cost.
Costs Incurred With Any Claim
Additional costs may arise when you make a claim. Doctor and hospital visits may be associated with a fixed cost. Alternatively, the amount you pay may be a percentage of the total costs. The costs you incur may vary with the care received, the service provider, and other factors. You should expect any medical insurance quote to explain all of these costs.
Your Deductible Costs
Individual health insurance plans frequently require you to pay a fixed amount before the benefits start. This fixed amount is called a deductable, so named because the insurance company deducts this amount from the amount they pay out in benefits. Plans with higher deductibles often have lower premiums. Make sure that your medical insurance quote clearly states any deductable.
Out of Pocket Costs
The entire claim amount may not be covered by your insurer even after you have paid your deductable. Patients are often expected to pay a certain percentage of the post-deductable expenses. This percentage can be 20 percent to 30 percent, depending on your policy. When you receive a health insurance quote, be sure that you understand these out of pocket costs.
Seeking Treatment Outside Your Network
There are some insurance plans that pay a higher benefit when you use doctors recommended by the plan. The insurance company calls these doctors the network. It is therefore advisable to use only doctors who are listed as part of the network. If you are traveling outside of the network, you may not able to do this. In that case, be sure your medical insurance quote explicitly states any differences in network costs.
Shopping for health insurance can make your head spin. Few tasks are as important, however, and you will save yourself a fortune should you ever suffer a medical emergency. Comparing medical insurance quotes from several different companies is the best way to tackle the job. Make sure to consider the points listed above when making your comparison, as well as other costs and details. Then you will be in the best position to choose the individual health insurance plan that is right for you.

Affordable Family Health Insurance Quotes - Where to Get Them

Affordable Family Health Insurance Quotes - Where to Get Them
by Brian Stevens

Medical bills are responsible for more than half of the personal bankruptcies in the U.S., and that number is climbing. If you don't have health insurance you risk losing everything you own. Here's how to get affordable family health insurance quotes so you won't face that situation.
Government Sponsored Programs
There are a number of no-cost and low-cost government programs you may be eligible for. These include:
Federal programs - Medicaid is a federally funded health insurance program that provides health care for low-income adults and families, pregnant women, elderly adults, people who are disabled, and people who care for a disabled family member. For more information on Medicare, visit the Medicare website at medicare.gov.
State programs - Every state has a number of health care programs for low income adults, families, and children. For instance, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is available to families who cannot afford to pay for insurance for their children but who earn too much to qualify for Medicaid. For more information about state-sponsored programs and to see if you qualify for any of their programs, visit your state's department of health services or department of human services.
Private Plans
If you don't qualify for a government sponsored health care program your other option is a private health care plan. These plans fall under two categories:
Indemnity plans (also known as fee-for-service plans) - These plans charge you a monthly premium and cover your doctor visits, prescription drug costs, and hospital fees. You are responsible for paying a deductible before your insurer will pay for your medical bills, and you'll also have to pay a percentage of those bills (usually 20%).
Indemnity plans are the most expensive plans and involve the most paperwork.
Managed health care plans (HMOs, PPOs, and POSs) - These plans charge you either a monthly premium or charge you for services as they're rendered. They pay for your doctor visits, prescription drug costs, and hospital fees. You are assigned you to a group of health care providers - doctors and hospitals - you must use for your care.
Managed health care plans are the cheapest plans and involve the least paperwork.
